Join us in celebrating forest icon Smokey
Bear’s 79th birthday! You will hear the story of Smokey, learn about
fire safety, enjoy a campfire, and even have birthday cake!
August 5, Smokey Bear’s Birthday Party (6:30-7:30 p.m.)
Join Certified Yoga Instructor Cherie
Hart for a nature-immersed and inspired session. Her calming voice and
demeanor are sure to help you feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready to
take on the day. Beginner friendly, and all levels and skills are
welcome.
The Northern Cross Science Foundation
volunteers will be waiting to explore the beauty and depth of the night
sky with you. The provided telescope and educators will excite you and
leave you even more curious. Be sure to bring your questions and bug
spray.
A web of secrets, trickery and danger
entangles Macbeth, his wife Lady Macbeth, his rival Macduff and
countless others as he claws his way to the top. The Summit Players
Theater is a traveling theatre company that presents free, accessible
Shakespeare workshops and performances to audiences at Wisconsin State
Parks. The workshop is at 5:30 p.m., recommended for ages 8 and up. Show
at 7 p.m. Bring a blanket or chairs! Performances are free.
Come to the Hwy Q boat launch and kayak down the pristine
Oconomowoc River to enjoy all the sights, sounds and smells of the great
outdoors. You’re sure to learn something new with the Naturalist there
to guide you! Limited kayaks are available to rent for $10, so call
262-670-3400 to reserve your spot! If you have your own paddle craft,
you are welcome to join at no cost. Participants must be age 14+.
