National Trails Day Hike - Pike Lake
June 5, 2021 @ 3:00 pm
Celebrate
National Trails Day and Free Fun Weekend at the Pike Lake Unit of the
Kettle Moraine State Forest. Park fees are waived all weekend. Join us
for a 2 or 5 mile hike in the hummocky terrain of the glacial moraine.
LOCATION: Meet at the Ice Age Trail sign near the entrance to the beach parking lot in Pike Like. Click here for driving directions. Watch for yellow “Ice Age Trail Event” signs.
HIKE DESCRIPTION: We will hike northeast from the
trailhead on the Ice Age Trail then loop back to the parking lot on
other park trails. A longer 5 mile route and shorter 2 mile route will
be offered. The 5 mile route will include a stop at the now open Powder
Hill tower which offers panoramic views of the countryside.
WHAT TO BRING: Wear comfortable hiking boots and dress
appropriately for the weather. We plan to hike rain or shine. Bring
water and your camera.
HIKE LEADERS: Mark Muellenbach
