It’s free, it’s fun,
it’s an outdoor treat for people of all ages: the annual Friends of Pike Lake
Community and Campfire and concert on Saturday, September 8th at 6:00 pm. The event’s most popular entertainer, Randy Peterson,
will perform in the Pike Lake Unit’s new amphitheater located just up the hill
from the old location. If it rains, the
concert will move to the nearby shelter. The Pike Lake Unit of the Kettle
Moraine State Forest is located at 3544 Kettle Moraine Road, Hartford,
Wisconsin. It is just south of Highway 60 between Hartford and Slinger. The event is free, though a state park
sticker (annual or daily, available that evening) is required for parking.
Attendees can find the new
amphitheater just northeast of the beach parking lot . . . follow the candles
that will light the path. The amphitheater
has its own seating with overflow lawn seating just above.
Along with his many live concerts, Randy
Peterson often appears on television and radio programs. His concerts are fast-paced, featuring humor
and storytelling. Children participate
throughout his shows, which he likes to call “sing-along, clap-along,
laugh-along concerts . . . which all ages will enjoy”. Here is link to his website for more information.
Readers of Northeast
Wisconsin Kids Magazine voted Randy "Favorite Children’s
Performer" many times, and the Green Bay Press Gazette Best of the
Bay reader’s poll voted him "Best Musician". Peterson's CD "Picture Day!"
received the iParenting Media Award, given to children’s products deemed “the
best in the industry” by iParenting Media, a division of the Walt Disney
Company. Randy also received the
prestigious national Parents’ Choice Award twice.
