Next Friends of Pike Lake Event:

Join us for the annual Candlelight Ski/Hike/Snowshoe, Saturday, February 9th.  This is a great event for people of all ages.  Two loops of about 3/4 of a mile each are flat-groomed so participants can hike, ski or snowshoe.  The trails are lit with over 200 luminaries for an enchanting winter adventure.   The warming shelter on the south end of the beach parking lot is the connecting point for the two trails.  There the Friends group will provide refreshments and a fireplace, while outside the shelter a roaring bonfire will provide a cheerful gathering place.

The event gets under way at 6:00 pm and will wrap up about 9:00 pm.  A state parks and forests parking sticker is required and will be available at the parking lot entrance.

In the meantime, you can stay warm with new Friends of Pike Lake logo sweatshirts, available when the office is open, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The office is now open most weekends, too.
