Discover more on Discovery Day
at Pike Lake, Saturday, June 6

Once again the Friends of Pike Lake have teamed up with the Pike Lake Unit DNR staff and lots of volunteers from the area to provide free outdoor fun and growth for the whole family.  First up is the guided bird hike at 7:30 -- bring binoculars if you have them.  For those who want to start later, the general activities run from  9:00 am  through 1:00 pm.  At 10:00 am the Wildlife in Need program begins at the south shelter.
A few of the activities available throughout the day include a kayaking demonstration, fishing instruction, geocaching, fun with reptiles, astronomy with our friends from the Northern Cross Science Foundation, archery, nature-print T-shirt production and more.  See poster below for details.  Below the poster you can see photos from previous Discovery Day events to get an idea of how much fun you could have!
A State Parks and Forests parking sticker is required for this event, otherwise, it is free.  Check our Facebook page or email friendsofpikelake@gmail.com for more information.
