May 5th Volunteers Needed!

Pike Lake Unit Superintendent Rob Wessberg is looking for many volunteers Saturday, May 5th to help control invasive plant species at Pike Lake.  Members of the public and members of the Friends of Pike Lake are asked to bring pruners and loppers and wear work gloves to remove invasive buckthorn and honeysuckle from the large field west of Kettle Moraine Drive and south of Highway 60 so a more natural native ecosystem can recover, attracting birds and other desirable wildlife.

Please meet at the Pike Lake DNR office at 9:00 am May 5th.  The project will wrap up by noon.

    Many thanks to all volunteers!
